You may need to visit an optometrist if you hurt your eye. This is very common for those that play contact sports in addition to sports that use things that could hit the eye, like a tennis ball or golf ball. Eyes are very delicate and can become easily scraped or injured if something hits it, so it is always smart to have it examined if something hits it. More serious issues like a detached retina or scratched cornea may lead to lifelong vision problems if not property cared for immediately.

Whenever your eyesight is not clear, whether it happens gradually with age or occurs immediately after having your eye hit by a ball, it is imperative to have an eye doctor exam it to rule out any other serious problems and to fix the problem at hand. Eyes need attention too.
