Facts On What Creates Tooth Decay

Most people give little thought to their “spit” but saliva helps keep your teeth preserved by washing away some of the food particles after eating, it keeps acid levels low and protects against some bacteria and viruses.

Plaque is like thick jam jelly on your teeth. It is protozoa, mycoplasmas, yeasts and viruses clumping together. Plain English it is colonies of bacteria, and not only can this affect your teeth but gone unattended over time will affect other areas of your health. Over time if you ignore it then it will mineralize and turns into tartar because it absorbs calcium and other minerals. This hardens your plaque causing decay problems.

There are many bacteria in our mouths, some are good and of course some not. Remember when mom said brush your teeth? Well, for good reason it turns out because the less we take care of our oral hygiene the more the bad bacteria takes over causing major decay problems.there are cheap dental plans

Interesting enough the thought is that sweets like candy and ice cream are what cause tooth decay. Actually, all carbohydrate foods eventually break down into simple glucose and fructose (sugars).

If you or family members seem to live in the dentist office and get frequent tooth decay, ask about the best ways to reduce your risks and limit dental decay on your next visit. There are some very good cheap that will help reduce your costs, but why not enhance that with preventative maintenance. You will have better health all the way around, not just your oral hygiene and save money on your dental bills.

Most people grimace when thinking about going to the dentist and of course leaving with a numb mouth and a large bill can make for a not so good experience. Hopefully these facts will help you in decreasing your trips for dental work and increase your pocketbook.
