Issues of problem teeth:

Crowded Teeth Cause Diseases and Other Health Related Issues: This occurs when there is simply a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally. If you have overcrowded teeth problems and don’t take care of them, you could find yourself with dental decay, increasing the chance of gum disease and prevent normal teeth growth.
Wide spaces between teeth: This can be caused by the abnormal continued growth of your jaw bone. When you have missing teeth, this problem may also be caused by the other teeth shifting due to extra space. Teeth spaces can cause periodontal diseases.

Maloclusion Causes Diseases and Other Health Related Issues: What people commonly refer to as an “overbite” is known to dental professionals as “overjet. It happens when the upper teeth bite over the lower teeth. It’s typically caused by either genetics, bad oral habits, or over development of the bone that supports the teeth. This problem may lead to gum disorders and irritation, plus wear on your lower teeth and cause painful jaw and join problems.

Dental Underbite Has Caused Diseases and Other Health Related Issues: This occurs when the lower teeth extend past the upper teeth. It’s usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both. This can also happen when you are missing upper teeth. This problem can slow down the normal function of your front teeth or molars which can lead to tooth wear. It can create painful problems with the joints of your jaw.

Crossbite Teeth Diseases and Health Issues: This occurs when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. This can make for one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth, and may happen on both the front or sides of the moth. This issue can cause wear of the teeth, gum disease, and bone loss.

PostHeaderIcon What If You Need a Gum Graft…

If you have discovered that you have receding gums, then there are a number of methods you will be able to turn to. One of those methods is known as a gum graft. Today, it seems as if the gum graft has gained a lot of popularity. What is a gum graft? Well, it is a dental procedure that can be done in order to replace those receding gums.

One other side effect of gum disease is that you could get halitosis

What causes recession of gums? Well, there are a number of things that can cause this problem. When you brush your teeth more than needed, this can cause recession of gums. Some other factors that could cause gum recession include periodontal disease.

What exactly do gum grafts do? A gum graft will be using either hard or soft tissue, depending on the location in order to restore that gum line. We must add that recovering from gum grafts can be a bit on the painful side. You will need to allow some time for the gum to heal.

Tip: A portable oral irrigator is a device that may help you maintain good oral hygiene while travelling.

You may have also heard of gum grafts as gingival as this is the dental terminology that is used. Gingival mucosa will be flexible, yet soft tissue. Keratinized gingival will be made out of harder material as it has been designed to protect the roots. Whenever the gums start to recede, the soft tissue is generally the one that disappears first.

Tip: Using a Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator may help to reduce plaque build up between office visits.

If you catch this early, you will be able to get this process done with the soft tissues. The soft tissue graft is going to restore the gum line. If the dentist finds that the gums have deeply receded, then you may need to have a connective tissue graft done. Connective tissue grafts will be using firmer gingival, which will be protecting those fragile areas of your teeth.

PostHeaderIcon Another Reason For Patients To Quit Smoking…

It has long been suspected that smoking and gum disease are interrelated. Thanks to recent studies, that link has been proven. We have all long known that smoking is dangerous to your health. It can cause heart disease, including heart attacks. It could lead to strokes and aneurysm. Naturally it can lead to lung and throat cancer, not to mention many others. Your breath smells, your teeth get stained, and respiratory problems and infections are practically a given. As it turns out, smoking can negatively affect your oral health as well.

Smoking is one of the big risk factors associated with gum disease. This because smoking opens wide the doors for bacteria to flock into your mouth. Bacteria is what ultimately causes gum tissue diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis. However, that is not the only reason smoking can lead to gum disease.

Both the smoke which comes from the tobacco and the nicotine in cigarettes can make your blood vessels constrict. That makes it harder for nutrients and oxygen to get to parts of your body – including your gums and gum tissue.

Smoking is not the only thing which causes this to happen. Chewing tobacco can as well. Further, they can both make it more difficult for your body to adequately fight off infections. Meaning, it cannot repel the infection which causes gingivitis. If you are a smoker, it may even be more difficult for your body to respond to the proper treatment methods for gm disease.

How can you, as a smoker, decrease your risk for gum disease? Well, naturally, you have got to stop smoking. Think of all the aspects of your health smoking will negatively affect? You also need to do your part by rigorously taking care of your teeth. Brushing, flossing, and regular checkups are important.

PostHeaderIcon Heart Disease - Decrease Your Risk By Caring For Your Mouth?

The kind of plaque that forms in the arteries that feed the heart have been found to contain the same kind of bacteria that cause gum disease in the mouth. Now, if this isn’t an eye opener, I’m not sure what is. This research is not conclusive, I should add. But, it does point to the possible relationship between the two diseases.

Other studies have shown an elevated risk of heart disease in those who have gum disease. Therefore, while we can not say the correlation is exact, there seems to be enough evidence to show that the presence of diseased gum tissue may contribute to your chances of having a heart attack. Ok, I hope that got your attention.

Now, couple that information with the notion that a large part of the population suffers from gum disease. You can look up your own statistics on that, they vary quite a bit. But even the smallest numbered statistics are alarming. If you think about it, doesn’t it mean that mere brushing and flossing may not be enough to protect you against gum disease?

If you ask me, I would have to say it probably does indicate that. This is a frightening thought. Most of us have been trained from the formative years to brush and floss. But what if it really has never been enough as far as prevention goes?

I’m not suggesting you give up those activities – far from it! They are helpful in reducing the problems that we can face. I’m merely suggesting that they may not be enough. Instead, try ora-md.

There is more to defeating periodontitis or even minor gingivitis. If that were not true then the Mayo Clinic would not tell us that 95 percent of people after age 65 have some form of gum disease. Still think you are safe?

PostHeaderIcon Prevent the Problems that Gum Disease Brings…

The majority of people can do something about gum disease if they really wish to. It is indeed easier to prevent periodontal disease. However, many folks, perhaps as many as seventy-five percent currently have a problem that needs to be solved.

If you have mild to moderate gum disease, you can save yourself money and pain. But you need to take action right away. If you have mild gingivitis, you are in a better place.

Many problems may stem from our nutrition. Excessive sugar intake may not only contribute to the accumulation of plaque and tartar but they may also offset the ability of your body to maintain the proper calcium and phosphorous balance to keep your teeth healthy and free of cavities. This modern way of eating and processing foods may be causing us harm that previous populations did not have to contend with.

On the surface level, plaque must be disrupted daily in order to prevent the formation of tartar. Failure to follow this commonly accepted practice will result in the accumulation of harmful bacteria – harmful to your dental health. However, there have been, in the past, indigenous groups of people that did quite well without the modern toothbrush. Their much more natural diet was better for the body.

If you are one of those eating the modern diet, and if you are reading this then you are, you need to put some effort in to prevent tartar accumulation. As with many things in life there are differing viewpoints, but for most of us, this is the reality.

After you learn to keep plaque under control you might find your gums becoming pink and healthy again. Gum tissue that has been lost is difficult to replenish. Surgery and gum grafts are not going to yield results that are equivalent to preventing tissue loss in the first place.

Another problem that people face is bad breath, Therabreath may help with that. Halitosis is something that can affect our personal lives as well as our professional lives.  You can do something about that as well.Repetitive and consistant work is the key to success.
